H.E.L.P. MLK Parade Scholarship Information
HELP MLK Day Parade Scholarship
Open to Dallas County high school graduating seniors. 5 Students will be awarded $3,000 each. These scholarships are to help defray the cost of tuition, books, campus residency, etc. The $3,000 scholarship will be submitted directly to the
winning applicant’s trade school, college, or university. For consideration Graduating Seniors will be required to submit:
A short essay (250-500 words) on “The Life of Service and Sacrifice of Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr.” (WILL BE VERIFIED FOR PLAGIARISM)
Confirmation Letter of Community Service (will be verified)
Recommendation Letter from Current teacher (will be verified)
A copy of current report card (will be verified)
If application is chosen, must attend interview (date and times will be notified)

Submission Deadline December 22, 2024
The winners will be announced during the 2025 MLK Day Parade P3 Kickoff activities on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 8am. Location in front of MLK Community Center Campus. 2922 MLK Blvd Dallas, TX 75215.
Disclaimer: If students are awarded the 2025 City of Dallas MLK Scholarship
Essay Contest, they will be ineligible for the award of the 2025 HELP MLK
Day Parade Scholarship.
