ABOUT THE PARADE

****2025 ALTERNATE PARADE ROUTE DUE TO CONSTRUCTION****

Due to the continued construction on MLK Blvd/SM Wright, the 2025 Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual MLK Day Parade will start at the Fair Park Pennsylvania entrance. It will proceed westbound on Pennsylvania turning right north bound on Latimer making a right on MLK Blvd. The Parade will proceed eastbound returning to Fair Park. 

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we value the safety of the participants and staff. 

Participants include elected officials, high school bands and dance teams, car clubs, horses, local businesses, and other community organizations.

Arrive early to enjoy the MLK Parade Kickoff, from 9:00 am-10:00 am in front of the King Center featuring a compilation of entertainment before the parade starts.

Entry Deadline

The deadline to submit an application is 5:00 pm on Monday, December 30, 2024.

Entry Fee

  • Parade Entry Fee: $150=50 participants(includes the cost of 1 vehicle;  additional vehicles are $15 each (Limit 5)
  • Car Clubs: $200 for the first 5 cars; $15 each additional car (Limit 20) No walkers
  • Motorcycle Clubs: $200 for the first 10 cycles; $15 each additional (Limit 3) No walkers
  • Trail Ride Groups w/horse: $150=50 participants (includes the cost of 1 horse; additional horses are $15 each (Limit 3) **Coggins and Health Certificates must be submitted with applications for ALL horses to be authorized by the Planning Committee to approve participation. ** 

  •   Payment can be made online or by money order or cashier’s checks made payable to “Hope Encourage Love Protect (H.E.L.P.)”

    • Registration is not complete until the entry fee has been paid.
    • At least 1 representative from each organization MUST attend a mandatory logistics meeting before the parade.
    • Refunds: There are no refunds for this event. We encourage every group to carefully plan and agree before paying to participate. Each participant fee assists in the subsidy of the parade. However,
      we are mindful of emergency circumstances that may grant an exception. If a participant has paid and cannot attend for another reason we can credit/comp the organizations participation for
      the next year. If the parade is postponed/canceled by an Act of God plans for the parade will be communicated as soon as possible.

Parade Logistics Meeting

There will be a mandatory meeting for all Parade participants on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 6:30 pm at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Rec Center located at 2901 Pennsylvania Ave Dallas, TX 75215 

A representative from your organization MUST BE IN ATTENDANCE- failure to attend forfeits your participation in the parade.
